The townsfolk have gotten used to Charlie's gruff voice shouting over the noise of coal mining. Loud and rough around the edges, Charlie has spent his life working as an explosives demolitionist — a dangerous job that has earned him a reputation and plenty of distance from others.

But beneath the booming voice and scruffy appearance is a man with a heart of gold. Years of exposure to explosions have taken a toll on his hearing, not his temperament. Charlie might yell a lot, but it’s not out of anger — it’s simply how he communicates after so many years around detonations.

Charlie’s deep knowledge of explosives is invaluable in the harsh world of coal mining. He’s meticulous, alert to detail, and always focused on safety, even when everything around him feels chaotic. Though he prefers to stay behind the frontlines, he’s far from a coward. On the contrary, Charlie’s chemistry expertise and powerful arms make him a dangerous force, especially with explosives and grenades.

On the battlefield, enemies have learned not to underestimate him. With a nickname like “the grenadier,” Charlie has proven time and again that his explosions can change the tide of any fight. His protective nature makes him especially hostile toward anyone who endangers miners or tries to steal their hard-earned resources.

One such outlaw, Crazy Joe, has felt Charlie’s wrath firsthand. After trying to plunder a mining camp, Joe and his bandits were driven back by a thunderous barrage. While Joe wasn’t offended, he was impressed — and now sees Charlie as a potential ally. Charlie, however, remains blissfully unaware of Joe’s admiration… and wouldn’t care even if he knew.
